Programme of Study
Qur’ānic Arabic
We will teach students the basics of Qurʾānic Arabic and how to recite The Qur’ān using complex rules of tajweed. Students will be expected to learn oft recited chapters and verses The Qur’ān. We expect our students to learn surahs and verses from the Holy Qurʾān, especially those which have been recommended to recite on a daily basis by the Prophet ﷺ.
Arabic Language
The Madrasah is centred around children developing fluency in the Arabic language. Keeping to our ethos of being child-centric, we aim to teach Arabic through interactive means such that children can hold basic conversations in Arabic. Staff members use both Arabic and English to give instructions to students and as they progress into later years all lessons will primarily be delivered in Arabic.
Other Subjects
Students will also be introduced to the sciences of Prophetic Biography, Sacred Law, Creed and Spiritual Wayfaring.
Assessment & Progress
Every student will be assessed on entry to the Rawḍah Madrasah and allocated a class based on their assessment. Parents will be issued with an annual written report on their child’s progress and invited to attend a parent-teacher conference within the academic year.
The Ascending Levels (planned) for the Rawḍah
A primary objective of the Rawḍah system is to serve as a preparatory and feeding school
for
our schools on campus and the higher institutions of traditional Islamic learning in the
Muslim world such as Dār al-Muṣṭafā in Tarim, Haḍramawt.
There is a very clear aim of to address the near absence of bonafide scholars of the
tradition in the UK.
